Neural Therapy Developed in the 1950’s in Germany, neural therapy applies the principles of biochemistry of nerve conduction with the concepts of energy blockage of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Through the injection of very small amounts of local anesthetic (and now other materials are also being suited to more specific effect), to restore the membrane potential (anesthetic typically is believed to block the sodium/potassium pump which facilitates the nerve impulse to travel down a nerve fiber) which is believed to have been blocked by injury, trauma, surgery or illness. When this is the cause of the pain, frozen shoulder or other symptom, there is often a nearly instantaneous change in the symptom, which is improved and eventually maintained after a short series of visits, not generally needing re-treatment.
